2009 in RETROSPECT
This has been such a wonderful year for me, Let’s review!
January: I was visiting OCU and ACU one last time to hopefully make a college choice. I was also victoriously learning to walk again after the freak achilles tendon accident from the past October.
February: I made the decision to attend Abilene Christian University. My golden birthday— 18 on the 18th— was my best...

Finally made it.
Upon defrosting, my refrigerator decided to turn on me and produce the foulest smell I have ever experienced. I felt like I was on an episode of Dirty Jobs as I cleaned it out.

I’m home!
On repeat was:
Fireflies by Owl City
Tik Tok by Ke$ha

You feel like heaven when we touch I guess for me this is enough We’re one mistake from being together But let’s not ask why it’s not right You won’t be seventeen forever And we can get away with this tonight You are young and I was...
Live by it.
My favorite thing I learned in Fundamentals of Communication, a super easy class that GAs like to make hard just for the fun of it, is self-fulfilling prophecy.
self-fulfilling prophecy- expectations we have of ourselves or that others have of us that help to create the conditions that lead us to act in predictable ways
Oh, the power of positive thinking.
It was my swagger, I guess.

Finality
Just finished my first two college final exams.
They went pretty well, I must say. One being the infamous political science.
Never in my wildest dreams did I think that I would enjoy that class. In fact, I was prepared to hate it. Quite the opposite occured.
It was my favorite class this semester. It challenged me and allowed me to really pour myself into the subject. Lots of studying. Lots of...
You can’t wrap love in a box, but you can wrap a person in a hug.

Cold weather is a good time for hugs, and lots of them.
Do you belong in journalism?
“I think not career offers greater opportunities for real service than newspaper work. Doctors can save lives and clergymen can save souls. Newspapermen have the power to save society.”

Wow, this book was published in 1959. Ch-ch-ch-change!
